Nigerians Unearth Old Photo of New Pope During Visit to Nigeria
Robert Francis Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV as of May 8, previously visited Nigeria during his tenure as the superior of the Order of Saint Augustine.
During that visit, he spent time with his Augustinian brothers, and Nigerians have since unearthed and begun sharing photos from that trip.
These images of his time in Nigeria, taken before his elevation to the papacy, are now circulating widely as part of the celebrations and reflections on his historic election.
