Nigerian soldiers repel coordinated ISWAP attacks across Borno

Operation HADIN KAI troops successfully thwarted multiple ISWAP infiltration attempts in Borno State, forcing the terrorists to retreat after decisive military engagement.

Soldiers serving with the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, successfully blocked several coordinated infiltration efforts by ISWAP militants in Borno State early Friday morning. According to Captain Mohammed Goni, the acting military information officer, the insurgents attempted to breach the Maiduguri metropolis through Muna Garage, Shuwari, and Ajilari Cross between 12:20 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.

Thanks to effective early warning systems, the troops identified the approaching fighters and utilized precise firepower to neutralize the threats. Additional attempts were also stopped in Miringa and Dutsen Kura. While pursuing the retreating insurgents in Miringa, a military Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle struck an improvised explosive device, though no soldiers were injured. The area is currently under control as clearance operations continue to track down the militants. The military command remains committed to offensive operations and has asked the public to maintain vigilance and report suspicious activities.
