Nigerian Man Pleads Guilty to Cyberstalking and Sextortion Leading to U.S. Man’s Death

A 27-year-old Nigerian man, Imoleayo Samuel Aina, also known as “Alice Dave,” has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including cyberstalking, interstate threats, extortion, money laundering conspiracy, and wire fraud, in connection with the tragic death of 20-year-old Jack Sullivan in Pennsylvania. Aina entered his plea before United States District Court Judge Joel H. Slomsky, as announced by U.S. Attorney David Metcalf in a statement released by the U.S. Department of Justice on May 6, 2025.

Aina and his co-defendant, 25-year-old Samuel Olasunkanmi Abiodun, were apprehended in Nigeria and extradited to the U.S. on July 31, 2024, after being charged in August 2024, alongside another co-defendant, Afeez Olatunji Adewale, 25. Aina is scheduled for sentencing on August 11, where he faces a statutory maximum of life in prison.

Abiodun, who pleaded guilty to money laundering conspiracy and wire fraud in December 2024, is set to be sentenced on June 10, facing up to 100 years in prison. Adewale, also charged with similar offenses, remains in Nigeria, awaiting extradition.

The FBI and the Abington Township Police Department led the investigation, with critical support from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs, the FBI Legal Attaché in Abuja, and Nigerian authorities, including the Attorney General of the Federation and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The case traces back to January 2023, when Sullivan, a sophomore at Kutztown University and a 2021 Abington Senior High School graduate, received flirtatious messages from the Instagram account “Alice Dave.” The interaction escalated to intimate exchanges on Snapchat, which quickly turned into a blackmail scheme, demanding money under threats of exposure.

Later that night, “Alice’s flirty texts were replaced with threats that if Sullivan didn’t send money, she would share the photos with his family, friends, and campus community “all u have to do is cooperate with me and I will not expose u, if you block me I will ruin your life,” Alice wrote, according to law enforcement records. “don’t try to act smart I know where you live.”

Despite Sullivan sending approximately $2,800, the threats continued. Less than 24 hours after the initial message, Sullivan tragically died after being struck by a train at the Jenkintown SEPTA station. His death, initially ruled a suicide, was later classified as a homicide by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office following further investigation.

In December 2023, Sullivan’s parents filed a civil lawsuit against the social media companies behind Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, accusing them of failing to remove predatory accounts.
