Troops from the Nigerian Army 65 Battalion raided an illegal bunkering site in Lagos, arresting six suspects and seizing vehicles and petroleum products.

Soldiers from the Nigerian Army 65 Battalion successfully raided an unauthorized bunkering facility in the Orile region of Lagos State on July 16. The mission resulted in the detention of six suspects and the confiscation of various items linked to the illegal trade.

Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 81 Division, confirmed that the raid followed reports of economic sabotage. During the operation, troops seized a white Ford bus, a tanker, and four drums, two of which were filled with suspected illicit petroleum products.

Lieutenant Colonel S. Adeojo, the Commanding Officer of the 65 Battalion, later transferred the suspects and the confiscated items to the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for legal proceedings.

Major General Adebayo Babalola, GOC of the 81 Division, praised the soldiers for their efficient performance and dedication. He emphasized that the division remains committed to protecting national resources and warned criminals that their operations will be disrupted. He further urged the public to provide security agencies with actionable information to help combat economic crime.
