Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has committed to rapidly processing the Certificate of Occupancy for the Nigerian Army’s newly established 10 Division, which will be based in Adamawa State. This installation is set to provide military coverage for both Adamawa and Taraba states.
The Governor shared this pledge on Thursday during a meeting with a delegation from Army Headquarters, headed by Major General Ime Basi. Fintiri emphasized that the division is a vital move for addressing regional security concerns. He confirmed that the administration will finalize all legal documents, including the land certificate, within two weeks to speed up the development of the base.
Representing the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Major General Basi noted that the new division will bolster personnel numbers in key locations, ultimately improving the security of citizens and property in the area. Basi also requested that the state provide temporary space for troops to begin operations before the permanent barracks are finished.
