Karolina Muchova has advanced to her inaugural Wimbledon final after overcoming Coco Gauff in a gripping three-set battle. The match was decided by a tense final-set tie-break in hot weather on Centre Court, ending 6-2 1-6 7-6 (12-10) in favor of the Czech player.
Muchova initially dominated the match before Gauff staged a strong comeback. In the deciding tie-break, Gauff rallied from a 4-1 deficit and earned a match point on her own serve. However, she failed to capitalize, hitting a routine forehand into the net. Muchova also missed her initial chance to win the match but ultimately prevailed after a grueling contest.
Previously, Muchova had competed in four major semi-finals but only once progressed to a final, which was at the 2023 French Open. On Saturday, she will compete for the championship title against either Linda Noskova or Marta Kostyuk.
