Military operations in North-East lead to rescues, insurgent repels, and arrests

Operation HADIN KAI forces secured the release of two hostages, thwarted an ISWAP base attack, and captured several logistics suppliers across the North-East.

Operation HADIN KAI forces in North-East Nigeria have successfully conducted a series of security operations, resulting in the rescue of two kidnapped individuals and the disruption of terrorist supply networks. Acting Military Information Officer Captain Mohammed Goni reported that troops from the 115 Task Force Battalion saved the victims in Borno State’s Askira/Uba area on July 7, while seizing cash and supplies linked to insurgent activity.

In a confrontation at the Logomani base, soldiers engaged suspected ISWAP fighters who breached the perimeter. Although the military suffered one casualty and equipment damage, the attackers were forced to flee. Additionally, intelligence-led efforts resulted in the arrest of logistics suppliers across Adamawa and Borno states, with authorities recovering firearms, ammunition, construction materials, and household goods.

Clearance missions also led to the discovery of illicit drugs near Wulgo and the peaceful surrender of six ISWAP members along with their families in Gwoza. Further checkpoints at Molai and Tarmuwa yielded captured medical supplies and motorcycle parts. These coordinated actions remain central to the military’s strategy of dismantling terrorist infrastructure and protecting local residents.
