Forces moved from Takum in Taraba State toward the Orter Camp, a known militant hideout located between the Tse Togo and Utenge communities. A intense firefight broke out, resulting in the neutralization of two assailants.

The three rescued individuals were identified as Nyityo Abraham, a local teacher; Uzuegwu Chukwuemeka Decency, who deals in spare parts; and Terhember Tavarshima, a farmer. Reports indicate that additional captives managed to flee the camp during the exchange of fire.
