Operation Fansan Yamma soldiers successfully freed 13 captives and thwarted militant attacks during targeted missions throughout Zamfara State. These interventions occurred within the Anka and Kaura Namoda Local Government Areas.
Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the military information officer, stated that Sector 2 troops stationed in Bagega received reliable intelligence regarding armed militants traveling by motorcycle toward Tungan Kudaduku in Anka. Utilizing surveillance data, the soldiers pursued the group and engaged them with superior firepower, compelling the militants to escape.
The follow-up sweep of the vicinity uncovered a temporary militant site where five civilians were safely retrieved. Additionally, in Ungwan Rogo, Kaura Namoda, forces encountered hostile fighters based on tip-offs. A brief but intense exchange of gunfire caused the insurgents to flee, leaving behind eight captives and two vehicles.
All 13 individuals have been transferred to appropriate agencies for medical and logistical assistance. The military remains committed to maintaining regional security and disrupting criminal networks.
