Soldiers from the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion, C Company, based in Mubi, Adamawa State, captured a 43-year-old man suspected of assisting terrorists. This occurred during a targeted search operation in the Mubi South Local Government Area.
Zagazola Makama, an expert on security and counter-insurgency within the Lake Chad region, shared details of the arrest on X this Tuesday. He confirmed that the mission took place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, within the Girpata and Wurobululude areas. The military carried out this sweep alongside Keystone and local hunters.
Troops identified the suspect as Yahaya Adamu while operating in the Girpata vicinity. Military personnel have since taken him into custody. Authorities intend to conduct a thorough investigation to confirm his connections and specific role involving extremist groups.
