Man’s Old Tweet Predicting Egg Price Hike Will Lead To Mass Failure In JAMB Resurfaces

X users are referring to a man as a prophet after he predicted that the surge in egg prices would lead to a mass failure in the JAMB exams.

Last year, following a sudden steep hike in the price of eggs, the man wrote on X: “1 crate of egg is 5000? Expect mass failure in jamb next year.”

At the time, people dismissed him and questioned how the price of eggs could possibly impact JAMB results.

One person asked: “Wetin concern egg and JAMB?”

He responded: “Egg is the cheapest form of protein. Consumption of proteins helps with cognitive function. Egg is now more expensive so means kids will eat less proteins needed for their brain development.”

His prediction proved accurate as JAMB reported a mass failure this year. The release of statistics from the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) showed that over 1.5 million out of the 1.95 million candidates scored below 200 out of 400.

Now, Nigerians are revisiting the X user’s old tweets to acknowledge that he was right all along.
