Luis Enrique and Rabiot Endorse Dembélé for Ballon d’Or
PSG boss Luis Enrique and Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot have both expressed confidence that PSG forward Ousmane Dembélé will win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Speaking to the media on Monday ahead of the Spain vs France match, Rabiot, a former Juventus player, insisted that Dembélé truly deserves the award. He highlighted that Dembélé played a crucial role in helping PSG secure the Champions League and other trophies this season.
He said via GFFN, “For me, Dembélé deserves the Ballon d’Or.”
Enrique added that Dembélé significantly contributed to the French champions this season with his exceptional performances.
He said via beIN Sports, “…I would give the Ballon d’Or to Ousmane Dembélé… He deserves the Ballon d’Or, without a doubt…”
Dembélé is competing for the Ballon d’Or alongside Mohamed Salah, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, all of whom had outstanding seasons and helped their teams secure league titles.
However, Dembélé’s achievements include winning the Ligue 1 title, the UEFA Champions League, and the Coupe de France. He was also named the Champions League Player of the Season.
This season, he scored 21 goals and provided six assists in Ligue 1. In the Champions League, the 22-year-old netted eight goals and made six assists. Additionally, he scored three goals in three appearances in the Coupe de France and also scored the winning goal in the Trophée des Champions.
