The Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the first batch of intending pilgrims will depart Ilorin International Airport for Saudi Arabia on May 12, with subsequent batches leaving on May 14, 16, and 17.
Executive Secretary Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, speaking during a Sunday enlightenment programme in Ilorin, said accommodation and catering arrangements are already in place.
He added that vaccines, uniforms, and bags will be distributed between April 28 and May 1. Pilgrims who paid over N8.4 million in Hajj fees will receive refunds after returning.
“The Board’s preparations for the 2025 Hajj are nearly complete, with visas processed for all 2,174 intending pilgrims,” he said.
Justice Abdul-Lateef Kamaldeen, Grand Khadi of the State Sharia Court of Appeal, educated intending pilgrims on Hajj rituals and expectations during a lecture.
He urged them to perform the pilgrimage with reverence, patience, and fear of Allah.
The second sensitisation session was attended by key stakeholders, including former Executive Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Tunde-Jimoh.
