Kogi Jailbreak: Three Fleeing Inmates Captured as Correctional Service Confirms Officer’s Death
Three out of the 12 inmates who escaped during the jailbreak at Koton Karfe Correctional Centre in Kogi State have been recaptured.
Acting Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Sly Nwakuche, confirmed this while addressing the press on Monday at the facility.
Expressing regret over the incident, he revealed that one of the correctional officers was killed by the fleeing inmates.
Nwakuche assured that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the remaining escapees and urged the public to assist security agencies by providing any useful information that could lead to their capture.
