Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has officially distributed appointment letters to 8,588 educators to improve the quality of schooling in the region. The ceremony, held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, included 4,900 fresh recruits alongside 3,688 teachers associated with the ABBA Gida-Gida BESDA initiative.
Addressing the new hires, Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of integrity and professional conduct, noting their essential role in guiding the next generation. He extended his gratitude to education stakeholders and partners for their continued commitment to the state’s school system.
Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, praised the Governor’s focus on educational investment, calling the recruitment drive a model for the entire country. He encouraged the teachers to demonstrate excellence to help build a stronger future for Nigeria.
Gwani Ali Haruna Makoda, the State Commissioner for Education, highlighted the need for better infrastructure and qualified personnel, promising to continue current reform efforts. Meanwhile, SUBEB Executive Chairman Malam Yusuf Kabir invited local leaders and private donors to support the government in improving the classroom environment, urging the new teachers to maintain high levels of discipline and punctuality.
