Jennifer Aniston Shares Why She Never Considered Adoption Amid Fertility Struggles

Jennifer Aniston has firmly stated that she has no interest in adopting children despite her past fertility challenges.

Speaking on a Wondery+ early access episode of the Armchair Expert podcast, the 56-year-old Morning Show actress explained why adoption was never something she wanted to pursue.

Aniston has previously opened up about her infertility journey, including undergoing IVF treatments and reaching a point where she no longer dwells on pregnancy.

The conversation about parenthood arose when co-host Monica Padman shared her own experience with egg freezing and her uncertainty about having children. She then asked Aniston whether she had found peace with not becoming a mother.

“It’s so peaceful,” Aniston responded, noting that her situation was ultimately beyond her control.

“When people say, ‘But you can adopt,’ I don’t want to adopt,” she said. “I want my own DNA in a little person. That’s the only way I’ve ever wanted it, selfish or not.”

Although Aniston admitted the subject is deeply personal, she acknowledged there have been fleeting moments when she met someone and thought they “would have made some good kids,” but the feeling quickly faded.

She added that the idea of parenthood can be romanticized once it’s no longer an option. “It just wasn’t in the plan, whatever the plan was,” she said, describing the moment she was told her chances were over as “very emotional.”
