Iran-Bound Drug Mule Arrested After Excreting 76 Wraps of Cocaine at Kano Airport
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 38-year-old alleged drug mule, Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano State.
According to agency spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the suspect was apprehended while attempting to board a Qatar Airlines flight to Iran via Doha with 76 wraps of cocaine concealed in his stomach on September 15.
“After three days of excretion observation, Okafor expelled the 76 pellets of ingested cocaine, weighing a total of 1.267 kg,” the statement noted.
In a separate operation in Kogi State, NDLEA officers patrolling the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway on September 17 recovered 700,000 pills of Exol-5, which were coming from Lagos for distribution in Kano and Kaduna. Additionally, a suspect named Udemefuna Chibuike, 23, was arrested on September 20 along the Mokwa-Jebba road in Niger State with 49,000 tablets of tramadol, 20,000 tablets of diazepam, 100 ampoules of tramadol injection, and 50 bottles of cough syrup containing codeine.
