Governor Uba Sani has honored his pledge to assist former prisoners who were granted freedom during the Democracy Day amnesty. Each of the 97 individuals received N100,000 to aid their transition back into society.
Kaduna Medium Security Custodial Centre officials stated that this funding is intended to foster successful rehabilitation and discourage future criminal behavior. The Assistant Controller, Dalhat Ibrahim, commended the governor for covering legal fines and providing capital, noting that such measures are vital for reintegrating these citizens into the community. He encouraged the recipients to utilize the funds to establish small businesses or start fresh paths.
Mohammed Suleiman, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocol, noted that this distribution represents the conclusion of the clemency initiative. He reiterated the administration’s call for the former inmates to maintain integrity and avoid activities that might lead to re-incarceration.
Recipients expressed their gratitude for the governor’s support. Beneficiary Chuks Solomon noted that the funds provide the necessary capital to restart their professional lives, while Abubakar Umar described the event as a significant turning point in their lives, offering prayers for the prosperity of Kaduna State and Nigeria.
