Anambra Secures Perfect Score in July 2026 Open Government Partnership Assessment

Anambra State has reached the top tier of the Open Government Partnership ranking, achieving a perfect score that validates its commitment to transparent and accountable governance under Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Anambra State has achieved a perfect 100% score in the July 2026 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Nigeria subnational status evaluation. This represents the maximum possible mark on the platform’s stringent nine-point assessment framework, which evaluates governmental transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement.

Christian Aburime, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, described the achievement as a rigorous validation of the state’s administrative integrity. According to Aburime, the OGP ranking does not provide accolades lightly; rather, it requires states to provide objective evidence of their governance practices across nine specific criteria. Achieving a perfect rating confirms that the state’s commitment to openness is structural and integrated into its daily operations under Governor Soludo’s leadership.

Aburime emphasized that this success stems from the governor’s institutional-building approach, which prioritizes durable systems over short-term political optics. This philosophy has similarly benefited the state’s primary healthcare sector, earning recognition from major international organizations such as UNICEF, the World Health Organisation, and Medecins Sans Frontieres.

For stakeholders and investors, this 100% status serves as a signal that the state’s fiscal and regulatory processes are predictable and reliable. Aburime noted that while this rating is a significant milestone, it is treated as a continuous commitment rather than a static award. The administration views this as evidence that Anambra has established the internal habits required to sustain high standards of governance.
