Governor Inuwa Tasks New Council Leaders with Grassroots Transformation

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has sworn in 11 LGA and 13 LCDA chairmen in Gombe State, charging them to foster transparency and accelerate grassroots development.

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has officially sworn in the newly elected chairmen for the state’s 11 Local Government Areas and 13 Local Council Development Areas. During the ceremony held in Gombe this Monday, the governor emphasized the necessity for transparent and inclusive leadership that prioritizes the needs of the public.

Highlighting the APC’s recent electoral success, Governor Inuwa stated that the peaceful conduct of the polls mirrored the public’s faith in his administration’s seven-year record. He urged the new officials to view their positions as opportunities for selfless service rather than mere political gain, reminding them that local government is the foundation of democracy.

The governor noted that the creation of 13 new LCDAs is a cornerstone of his reform agenda, designed to bring essential services like healthcare, education, and water supply closer to rural residents. He pointed out that these councils are now financially stable, a stark contrast to the insolvency issues his administration inherited in 2019.

Furthermore, Governor Inuwa tasked the chairmen with tackling critical issues such as local security, infrastructure gaps, and economic development. He encouraged them to focus on delivering tangible results, noting that effective governance is the party’s best tool for future political success. The event concluded with an appeal for continued collaboration between traditional leaders, civil society, and the newly inaugurated officials to ensure lasting progress across the state.
