Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has characterized the upcoming August 15 election as a pivotal moment for voters to express their stance to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He emphasized that the poll is a chance for residents to demand respect for their democratic decisions.
In a statement posted on his official X account, Governor Adeleke alleged that Adegboyega Oyetola, the former state governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, along with NIWA Managing Director Bola Oyebamiji, are leveraging their federal influence to hinder the state government. Adeleke argued that these maneuvers are intended to penalize Osun residents for his 2022 electoral victory.
The governor noted that these political pressures have negatively impacted civil servants, local traders, and artisans. He urged the public to turn out in high numbers to support his administration, framing the election as a defense of democratic integrity and a clear warning to the APC that the electorate will not be punished for their chosen representatives.
