Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, has called upon all eligible Nigerians to complete their voter registration. He emphasized that signing up to vote serves as the essential basis for securing effective leadership in the country.
The former governor of Anambra State shared his message on Friday following impromptu visits to INEC registration locations in Nibo and Nri. These stops occurred while he was traveling to attend planned activities within the state.
During these visits, Obi expressed satisfaction with the current levels of public participation. He highlighted that the path toward meaningful progress begins at the registration desk rather than the ballot box. He framed the registration process as a vital civic obligation and a direct investment in the nation’s future.
Obi urged those who have not yet registered to act before the deadline. Additionally, he encouraged current voters to help mobilize their peers, family members, and colleagues to join the process. He concluded by noting that higher registration numbers serve to reinforce the nation’s democratic foundations and bring the country closer to achieving a more secure and productive future.
