Galatasaray’s efforts to secure Victor Osimhen on a permanent transfer from Napoli are gaining momentum, with the Turkish club now finding a sponsor to cover 70% of the transfer fee.

According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Galatasaray, which is negotiating to lower the €75 million fee to €70 million based on payments already made, has partnered with two major companies in Turkey.

One of these companies has agreed to cover the majority of the fee, while Galatasaray will pay 30%.

Napoli is requesting €25 million upfront, with the remainder to be paid in two installments. In response, Galatasaray is moving quickly to finalize the deal, especially after Fenerbahce expressed interest in Osimhen, with coach José Mourinho reportedly involved in the negotiations.

Although Osimhen initially expressed contentment at Galatasaray, stating, “I am very happy here,” the Turkish club is now working hard to secure the striker’s signature and convince Napoli to sell.

Fenerbahçe has also explored the possibility of signing Victor Osimhen by having agent Mirsad Türkcan initiate talks to negotiate the transfer fee. Türkcan reportedly reached out to several organizations and secured a positive response from a sponsor, potentially backing the deal.

While Fenerbahçe has not yet met with Osimhen, the club is optimistic about securing his signature, largely due to the strong relationship between Fenerbahçe and Napoli, which was solidified during the transfer of Eljif Elmas. The Turkish side is now hoping to leverage this connection to beat other suitors to Osimhen’s signature.

Victor Osimhen is poised to be a significant investment for any club that secures his signature, with a transfer fee estimated at €75 million.

In addition to the transfer fee, the striker, who currently earns €12 million per year, including image rights, will receive €36 million over the next three seasons.

Galatasaray’s president, Dursun Özbek, is leading the charge to finalize the deal, supported by a three-man team consisting of himself, Kavukcu, and Buruk. They are expected to meet with Osimhen’s agent, George Gardi, in Italy to discuss the next steps in the transfer process.

Osimhen has made an immediate impact at Galatasaray, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in just nine matches across all competitions since joining the Turkish club in September.

On Monday, a meeting of EU foreign ministers reportedly approved a 16th package of sanctions against Russia while saying a swift casefire that favors Moscow will not be accepted. However, Hungary, whose leader Viktor Orban has remained close to Russian President Vladimir Putin and has persistently complicated EU efforts to support Ukraine, said it will not back further sanctions. The country’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto also said his country will not agree to a boost in EU military aid as US President Donald Trump continues his push to force Ukraine to agree to a peace deal with Russia. US officials met their Russian counterparts last week, while Trump and Zelenskyy have embarked on a bitter spat via the media, with the US leader accusing Kyiv of starting the war and questioning the Ukrainian president’s legitimacy. Trump’s peace plan, which appears designed to illustrate his self-appointed role as a global dealmaker, faces resistance on both sides. Russia said on Monday that the quick end to the war is “unacceptable”. A ceasefire without a long-term settlement “is the path to a swift resumption of fighting and a resumption of the conflict with even more serious consequences, including consequences for Russian-US relations,” Moscow’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said, according to the state-run RIA Novosti news agency. Meanwhile, Ukraine signalled on Sunday that a contentious proposal that would hand Washington $500bn worth of profits from Ukrainian rare minerals has now been taken off the table, and that talks on a different deal are progressing. Zelenskyy also told a forum in Kyiv that he would resign his post if that meant peace was achieved.
