FIFA Rankings: Nigeria Rises To 43rd Globally, Argentina Stays At The Top
The latest FIFA ranking has placed Nigeria as the 43rd-best team in the world. The World Football governing body announced this on its X handle on Thursday.
This marks a slight improvement for Nigeria, who finished 2024 in 44th place. Argentina remained at the top of the rankings, thanks to their impressive wins.
In the latest FIFA rankings, Spain is in second place, while France holds the third spot. England is ranked fourth, and Brazil completes the top five in fifth position.
Nigeria’s slight improvement to 43rd place could be attributed to their recent form, particularly their victory over Rwanda at home as part of their World Cup qualification campaign. The 2026 World Cup will be held in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
