Explosion Hits Trans-Niger Pipeline in Rivers State
An explosion occurred at the Trans-Niger Pipeline in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The explosion reportedly took place on Monday night, March 17, along the critical export pipeline that transports crude oil to the Bonny Terminal.
The affected section of the major pipeline was engulfed in flames, though the exact cause of the explosion remains unknown at this time.
Authorities have yet to determine whether the incident resulted from human interference, particularly in light of recent threats by militant groups to attack oil installations. These threats were made in response to the Federal Government’s withholding of Rivers State’s allocation due to the ongoing political crisis.
