New details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of skydiver Jade Damarell, who fell to her death from 10,000 feet.

The 32-year-old marketing manager crashed onto farmland in Shotton Colliery, County Durham, on April 27. Born in Hong Kong and residing in Caerphilly, Wales, Jade was an experienced skydiver with over 400 jumps to her name.

Police quickly ruled the incident non-suspicious after discovering a note at the scene. An inquest held last week confirmed there was “no reason to suspect” any equipment malfunction on the day of her death.

A recent report suggests that Jade may have taken her own life following a breakup with her boyfriend just hours earlier.

She had reportedly ended her eight-month relationship with 26-year-old car technician and musician Ben Goodfellow the night before the incident. The couple, who often went skydiving together, had been living together since Christmas.

One source told MailOnline: “The night before Jade died, Ben called off the relationship… He went to work the next day, and that’s when Jade fell to her de@th.”

According to friends, Ms Damarell’s parachute did not open during the fatal sky dive.

One friend said: “This wasn’t a skydiving accident we believe she intended to take her life, sadly. She skydived with someone else, broke off and turned onto her back and impacted. She chose not to open her parachute and she landed on her back.”

At the hearing on Thursday, May 26, coroner’s officer Ms. Alexis Blighe was questioned by Senior Coroner Jeremy Chipperfield about whether there was any indication of equipment failure on the day of Jade Damarell’s death.

Ms. Blighe responded, “No reason at all, sir.”

She confirmed that Ms. Damarell was involved in a parachute incident on April 27.

A post-mortem examination conducted by Dr. James Henry at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle determined that she died from blunt trauma.

Ms. Blighe also noted that the body was identified by Bryn Chaffe, the chief instructor at the skydiving company Ms. Damarell used.

The full inquest has been adjourned to August 21.
