Tech billionaire Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on Friday responded to the United States Navy’s decision to cancel wasteful IT contracts, 45 grants, and award funding in the country.

DAILY POST reports that Secretary of the United States Navy, John C. Phelan, announced on Thursday night that nearly $300 million had been saved after he canceled ineffective and over-budget IT contracts, along with the grants and award funding.

In reaction to the development, DOGE took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, praising Phelan and the US Navy for their “great work.”

This follows DOGE’s recent praise for the Department of Justice’s decision to cut millions of dollars in wasteful grants.

Meanwhile, DOGE has been tasked by United States President Donald Trump’s administration to eliminate waste within US federal agencies.

Trump recently expressed satisfaction with DOGE’s efforts, suggesting that the department may remain in the US indefinitely.
