Diddy Reportedly Survives Knife Attack In Brooklyn Prison Amid Safety Concerns
Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly faced a life-threatening incident inside MDC Brooklyn, where he is serving a federal prison sentence.
According to Daily Mail, one of Diddy’s close friends, Charlucci Finney, revealed that the hip-hop icon woke up to find a knife pressed against his throat in what he described as a “terrifying” encounter. Finney said he wasn’t sure if guards intervened in time or if Diddy fought off the attacker himself, but confirmed it was “a very close call.”
Sources also told TMZ that the confrontation appeared to be a targeted act of intimidation, possibly linked to Diddy’s high-profile status and the nature of his conviction. Finney added that inmates with sex-related charges often face heightened risks behind bars, saying the attack was likely meant to frighten him.
During Diddy’s sentencing hearing, his lawyer Brian Steel referenced the same incident, stating that a prison guard intervened before any serious harm occurred.
The 55-year-old producer and entrepreneur is currently serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits the transportation of individuals across state lines for unlawful purposes. He was, however, acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Meanwhile, speculation has swirled around reports that former U.S. President Donald Trump is considering granting Diddy a presidential pardon. While the White House Communications Office has denied the claim, TMZ maintains that its sources stand by the story.
Prison consultant Sam Mangel, speaking on TMZ Live, said Diddy will likely be transferred to a lower-security facility, which should be “less violent” than MDC Brooklyn. However, he cautioned that the recent scare underscores the constant danger of life in federal custody, even for high-profile inmates.
For now, those close to the music executive remain deeply worried. Finney described the ordeal as a “wake-up call,” saying, “He’s trying to stay strong, but it’s a reminder that in there, anything can happen in an instant.”
