The spokesperson of the Delta state police command, SP Bright Edafe, has warned Nigerians against carrying out acts of jungle justice.

In a post shared on his X, Edafe pointed out that if a suspect is beaten and injured in a compound, the police will not accommodate the suspect but will ensure those who beat the suspect take them to the hospital and get the person treated before he/she is taken into custody, He went further to warn that persons who carry out jungle justice will be charged to court if a suspect dies as a result of their act.

He wrote;

‘’So I was at trend FM today to discuss a different type of jungle justice. Many callers who called refused to yield to my advise and insist that they will beat up a suspected thief black and blue before taking them to the Police Station. Let me make it clear, we won’t accept a wounded suspect who suffered from jungle justice in your compound from you. We will accompany you to the hospital where you will have to treat the suspect before we admit the suspect. And if the suspects dies due to the beating, you and your other accomplices will be charged to court for murder. So sentiment in law, know this and know peace”
