Craig Bellamy will not be taking over as the manager of Burnley. The Championship club had reached out to the Football Association of Wales to recruit him as a replacement for Scott Parker, but those discussions have now ended.
Although Bellamy, 46, met with representatives from the Lancashire side, the deal could not be finalized. Sources suggest the issue was not related to compensation for the Welsh FA, but rather disagreements regarding the inclusion of his coaching staff in the move.
Bellamy previously served as an assistant under Vincent Kompany at Turf Moor from 2022 to 2024, even serving as caretaker manager for a short period. He took the head role for Wales in 2024 and is currently contracted through 2028. This commitment covers the upcoming European Championships, which will be co-hosted by Wales, England, Scotland, and the Republic of Ireland.
