Daniel Bwala, a Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has stated that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore will not be significant players in the 2027 general election. During an appearance on Symponi TV, Bwala argued that Makinde lacks the national political profile necessary for a presidential campaign.
Bwala contended that Makinde’s influence is restricted to Oyo State, asserting that the governor lacks the broad alliances and national recognition required to secure a victory. He claimed that the governor would likely struggle to win even within his own state during a national contest. Conversely, Bwala acknowledged that Sowore maintains higher national visibility and public affinity than the Oyo governor. Regardless of this relative popularity, Bwala maintained that both individuals remain inconsequential to the final electoral outcome.
