Bandits have killed a vigilante member and abducted four family members in Kasangwai, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A community leader confirmed the incident and revealed that contact with the kidnappers was established on Saturday, November 16, around 5:12 pm. The abductors are demanding a ransom of N30 million.

The attack reportedly occurred on Thursday at approximately 10:43 pm. According to the source, the victims—identified as Alhaji Saleh Adamu, his wife, and their two children—were taken from their home by armed bandits who invaded the community.

Alhaji Adamu, a cattle trader, had just returned from the SCC village market in Kachia LGA when the bandits, armed with AK-47 rifles and in large numbers, stormed his residence.

Local vigilantes attempted to thwart the abduction after hearing the gunshots but were overpowered by the bandits, resulting in the death of one vigilante member.
