Aston Villa has secured a loan agreement for Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho, which will run through the conclusion of the 2026-27 season. The arrangement includes an obligation for the Birmingham club to purchase the player permanently. The 22-year-old Argentine has already passed his medical examination and reached an agreement on a four-year contract with Villa should the transfer become permanent.
While the specific financial details of the purchase clause remain private, sources suggest the obligation will likely be triggered by performance-based metrics, such as appearances. Chelsea expects the deal to fulfill their initial £43 million valuation. This move coincides with Chelsea signing Morgan Rogers from Villa for a record £117 million. Garnacho is now Villa’s fourth acquisition this summer, joining Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, and Modou Keba Cisse, as the club continues a significant squad overhaul that has seen nearly £200 million in sales.
Chelsea, having acquired Garnacho from Manchester United for £40 million just last September, has sought to reduce their squad size following the additions of Rogers and Geovany Quenda. Manchester United is entitled to 10% of any eventual permanent transfer fee generated by the winger, who recorded eight goals and four assists in 43 appearances for the Blues last season.
