Ipswich Town has bolstered its Premier League squad with the addition of Japanese forward Daizen Maeda. The 28-year-old moved from Celtic in a deal valued at approximately £10 million, committing to a three-year agreement. Maeda, who represented his nation during the 2026 World Cup, arrives after a successful tenure in Scotland where he recorded 79 goals in 212 appearances and secured ten major trophies.
Expressing his excitement about reaching his ambition of playing in England’s top flight, Maeda credited the welcoming atmosphere at Portman Road for his decision. Ipswich manager Gary O’Neil highlighted the forward’s work rate and physical capability as key assets that will benefit the team following their promotion to the Premier League.
