Yobe State APC stakeholders have designated Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai as their consensus candidate for the Yobe South Senatorial seat in the 2027 election.

Consensus choice for Yobe South

The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Yobe State has officially selected Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai as the consensus candidate for the Yobe South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections. This decision follows wide-ranging discussions among party elders and local stakeholders.

The affirmation process

The formal endorsement occurred on Monday at the Federal College of Education in Potiskum. Yobe State House of Assembly Speaker, Buba Mashio, led the process, which was attended by various party officials and supporters. Leaders stated that the move aims to maintain party harmony and avoid internal conflicts.

Looking toward the election

Senator Bomai, who previously stepped aside from the gubernatorial contest, thanked party members for their trust. He praised the other potential candidates for prioritizing the party’s stability. If successful in the upcoming polls, Bomai would become the first representative from his district to secure three consecutive terms in the National Assembly. Analysts suggest this unified approach could bolster the APC’s position in the region.
