APC Selects Lawan and Bomai as Consensus Candidates for Yobe Senatorial Seats

The APC has finalized its senatorial candidates for Yobe state, naming Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan for the North and Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai for the South via consensus agreements.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially selected Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan as its consensus candidate for the Yobe North Senatorial District for the 2027 elections. The decision was formalized in Gashu’a, within the Bade local government area.
Lawan celebrated the outcome on social media, labeling it a success for democratic principles and party unity.
He expressed thanks to party leaders, including Governor Mai Mala Buni and Minister Ibrahim Gaidam, for their support following his successful screening.

In a related development, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai was confirmed as the party’s consensus pick for the Yobe South senatorial seat. This decision was reached following extensive discussions among local elders and political figures.
The announcement occurred at the Federal College of Education in Potiskum, with the Yobe State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Buba Mashio, presiding over the event.

These selections solidify the APC’s candidate roster for the 2027 cycle, which also includes Governor Mai Mala Buni for the Yobe East district. The three candidates have now been settled for each of the state’s senatorial zones.
