The All Progressives Congress (APC) has mocked rival political groups for failing to provide their 2027 election candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on time. According to the ruling party, this failure demonstrates a fundamental inability to manage organizational affairs.
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary for the APC, released a statement on Sunday confirming that his party completed its submissions for presidential and legislative candidates before the cut-off. While INEC granted an extension from July 11 to July 14, 2026, at the request of the opposition, the APC argued that this move only highlighted the incompetence of its rivals.
The APC statement questioned how parties struggling with internal nomination processes could expect to manage national or local governance. The party further labeled its opponents hypocritical, pointing out that these groups often accuse the APC of manipulating INEC, yet they relied on the commission for a deadline extension when they struggled to finalize their own lists.
The ruling party contrasted its performance with the opposition, claiming its successful data submission confirms its superior discipline and dedication to electoral procedures. Looking ahead, the APC urged its members to concentrate on promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening grassroots support to secure victory in 2027.
