Officers of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested three individuals for allegedly vandalizing transformer cables in Girei Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Rabiu Ali, 28, Muhammad Musa, 42, and Abubakar Usman, 18, were apprehended at different locations.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspects collaborated with three others, who are currently at large, to carry out the act of vandalism.

SP Nguroje further stated that the arrests followed credible intelligence received on February 6, 2025.

The accused are alleged to have vandalized transformer cables at Wuro Dole, which supply electricity to parts of Girei and Wuro Dole.

“The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, while commending the DPO Girei and his men for effective policing services, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to take over the case for discreet investigation and go after the fleeing suspects.

The Police Boss urges members of the public to report anyone seen around electrical transformer for immediate action,” said SP Nguroje.

He assured that the suspects would be prosecuted in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
