A man killed and buried a yoga teacher alive over an alleged affair with his wife.

A yoga teacher, murdered over an alleged affair, was buried alive in December 2024. His body was discovered on March 24 after police arrested the suspect following a lengthy investigation.

The accused, a resident of Rohtak, India, allegedly discovered his tenant was having an affair with his wife. Police say he then conspired with friends to kidnap the man and bury him alive in a 7-foot deep pit.

Hardeep, the suspect, learned that his tenant, Jagdeep—a yoga teacher at Baba Mastnath University—was involved with his wife. He hired workers to dig the pit in Pantavas village, claiming it was for a borewell, and waited for the right moment to act.

On December 24, Hardeep and his friends kidnapped Jagdeep, a native of Mandothi village in Jhajjar district, after he returned from work.

They tied his hands and legs, beat him, and took him to the pit in Charkhi Dadri. To silence him, they taped his mouth before throwing him into the pit and burying him alive with mud.

A missing person’s complaint was filed on January 3, ten days after the murder.

Police found no leads until they accessed Jagdeep’s call records, which led to the detention of Hardeep and his friend Dharampal.

After obtaining their custody and interrogating them, the suspects confessed to the crime.

Jagdeep’s body was recovered on Monday, March 24—three months after the murder.

“There are other accused in the case, who will also be arrested soon. The post-mortem has been conducted and we are waiting for the report,” said Crime Investigation Agency unit in charge Kuldeep Singh.
