The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has promised that the concerns fueling the current aviation strike will be addressed upon the return of Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, from his international assignment.
Captain Chris Ona Najomo, the Director General of Civil Aviation, issued a statement urging the labor unions to end their industrial action. He acknowledged the disruptions the strike is causing for passengers and industry participants. Najomo explained that a resolution attempt had been scheduled by the Minister last week; however, the session was canceled because airline operators did not attend.
The agency emphasized that flight safety standards remain intact, noting that it is still conducting its required oversight duties. The NCAA expressed regret for the passenger delays and encouraged all stakeholders to prioritize communication to restore normal operations quickly.
