Air Peace Flight Schedule Disrupted Following Ground Equipment Collision

A ground handling vehicle crashed into an Air Peace Airbus A320 in Lagos after the operator suffered a medical emergency, leading to significant flight disruptions.

Air Peace has reported damage to one of its Airbus A320 planes at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 in Lagos. A baggage conveyor truck owned by the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) collided with the aircraft engine, causing significant structural damage that grounded the plane.

The collision took place after flight P47427 arrived from Kano and passengers had successfully exited. According to a source, the vehicle operator experienced a sudden medical emergency and collapsed, causing the equipment to roll forward uncontrollably into the stationary aircraft. The staff member, identified as Mr. Sunday, is currently being treated at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria hospital.

Air Peace confirmed the incident has disrupted its flight network, forcing delays and potential cancellations while the airline adjusts its fleet. The company issued an apology to passengers and stated that it is collaborating with aviation authorities and NAHCO to investigate the event. NAHCO has not yet provided an official statement regarding the collision.
