Bandits linked to Bello Turji kill 11 in Sokoto raid

At least 11 people were killed and several others wounded after militants linked to bandit leader Bello Turji attacked multiple communities in Sokoto State.

At least 11 individuals lost their lives during a violent assault on multiple villages within the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Security researcher Bakatsine disclosed details of the tragedy through a social media update on Friday.

The raid took place on Thursday night across Turtsawa, Mazau, and Majema. Witnesses and security reports indicate that the gunmen involved are associated with the well-known bandit commander Bello Turji. These assailants raided the settlements and targeted the inhabitants.

Multiple survivors suffered severe wounds during the violence and are undergoing medical care at various sites. In his statement, Bakatsine extended condolences to the bereaved families and urged authorities to take firm steps to stop the ongoing pattern of violence in the region.
