President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated on Wednesday that the ongoing infrastructure improvements within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) exemplify his administration’s broader mission to drive progress across Nigeria. Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu commissioned Collector Road C01 and a bridge connecting the Body of Benchers, Nile University, and Baze University in Abuja.
The President emphasized that this project serves as a practical demonstration of his Renewed Hope Agenda, shifting from campaign pledges to visible results. Addressing concerns raised by the Body of Benchers regarding traffic congestion and poor road conditions, the government utilized emergency procurement to complete the bridge and road network rapidly. Tinubu noted that this infrastructure will enhance connectivity, shorten commute times, and foster a more efficient environment for academic and legal institutions.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike attributed the accelerated pace of these developments to the President’s decision to exempt the FCT Administration from the Treasury Single Account, which facilitated smoother funding for projects. President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s intent to continue investing in cities, satellite towns, and rural areas nationwide, asserting that the progress visible in Abuja is a blueprint for the development planned for the entire country.
