Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa have praised President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and various security agencies for the effective rescue of students and teachers kidnapped in the Oriire region of Oyo State.
Governor Abiodun stated that the operation reflects the President’s dedication to national security. He noted that the rescue proves the government’s promise to free victims and prosecute criminals is being fulfilled. By arresting and neutralizing several kidnappers, the operation serves as a warning that Nigeria is becoming a dangerous place for criminal gangs to operate.
The Ogun governor highlighted the professionalism of the military, police, DSS, and local intelligence units. He also recognized Governor Makinde for his close coordination with federal authorities, which he believes was vital to the mission’s success. Abiodun encouraged citizens to assist security forces by reporting suspicious activities promptly.
Separately, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa labeled the safe return of the captives a significant triumph that provides relief to their families and the broader public. Speaking through his spokesperson, Dave Agboola, Obasa commended the collaborative efforts between the President, federal forces, and the state government. He also extended his appreciation to the Nigerian Union of Teachers for their vocal advocacy and public demonstrations calling for the victims’ release.
Obasa concluded that the incident highlights how effective communication between public institutions and communities can resolve security threats. He expressed hope that this victory will encourage a stronger focus on the protection of educational environments and the safety of children nationwide.
