Shehu Sani Urges New Security Strategy Following Oyo Student Rescue

Following the rescue of abducted students in Oyo, former Senator Shehu Sani is advocating for a revised national security framework to protect pupils returning to school.

Former Senator Shehu Sani has called for the implementation of a fresh national security strategy to safeguard pupils as they prepare to resume their studies. This statement followed the successful liberation of kidnapped schoolchildren and educators in Oyo State, who spent 50 days held against their will.

Sani praised National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, alongside the military, the Department of State Services, and the police for their collective role in securing the release of the captives. In an online statement, he expressed relief at the outcome and acknowledged the contributions of those involved in the rescue operation.

The announcement regarding the freedom of the individuals from Orire was initially shared by Bayo Onanuga, the spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu. With the school break coming to an end soon, Sani emphasized that a robust framework must be established to ensure student safety upon their return to classrooms.
