Fulani Leaders in South West Applaud Rescue of Kidnapped Oyo Students

Fulani leaders in the South West have praised the successful government-led rescue of abducted students and teachers in Oyo State.

The Council of Fulani Chiefs across South West Nigeria has officially recognized President Bola Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and various security forces for the effective retrieval of students and educators taken in the Oriire Local Government Area.

Led by Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, the Sarki Fulani of Lagos, the group expressed relief regarding the victims’ safety. They highlighted the operation as proof of effective collaboration within the country’s security infrastructure.

A public statement from the council lauded the security personnel for their skilled and committed efforts, which ensured the safe recovery of the captives. The group noted that this outcome underscores the dedication of both federal and state authorities to public safety.

The council encouraged South West residents to foster harmony and unity, explicitly discouraging ethnic stereotyping and criminal activities. They pledged ongoing cooperation with government bodies to secure local neighborhoods and rural areas. Finally, the organization urged for continued vigilance and proactive measures to achieve nationwide peace, expressing hope that current security challenges will soon be resolved.
