Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, has officially integrated over 8,000 fresh soldiers into the Nigerian Army following their graduation at the Depot Nigerian Army in Osogbo. These new troops are set to bolster current efforts aimed at neutralizing terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping throughout the nation.

This massive recruitment drive aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate to add 28,000 personnel to the military, effectively tackling manpower gaps and enhancing operational responsiveness.
Addressing the graduates, Lt. Gen. Shaibu emphasized that their training focused on physical endurance, tactical proficiency, and leadership. He encouraged the soldiers to maintain discipline, loyalty, and a high regard for human rights while operating in the field.
