Lieutenant General Charlie Collins, the United Kingdom’s Deputy Chief of Defence Staff for Military Strategy and Operations, led a delegation to Maiduguri, Borno State, for a strategic meeting with the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI. During the session, Lieutenant General Collins confirmed that the United Kingdom remains dedicated to working with Nigeria, noting that their historical relationship is essential for tackling modern security threats. Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, thanked the UK for its role in boosting military capacity.
Air Vice Marshal Olusola Akinboyewa, serving as Deputy Theatre Commander, emphasized how strategic cooperation and professional development are vital for maintaining peace in the North East. The visit featured a Quarter Guard inspection and a field training exercise managed by the British Military Advisory and Training Team.
