A faction of the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporting FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has invited Chief Bode George to reunite with the party’s central leadership to strengthen the organization for the 2027 elections. Hakeem Olalemi, the group’s state organizing secretary, shared this message during a Sunday interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
Chief George, who previously served as deputy national chairman, currently stands with the National Working Committee faction led by Dr. Kabiru Turaki and supported by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. Throughout the ongoing internal party disputes, George has been a vocal opponent of Wike’s political maneuvers.
Despite these tensions, Olalemi emphasized that George is still viewed as a significant and respected elder within the party. He argued that the veteran politician’s extensive experience is essential for future success. Olalemi stated that George is a founding member who remains a vital part of the PDP family, expressing optimism that the leader would eventually return to the mainstream fold to support the party’s growth. He concluded by insisting that the PDP remains unified despite existing political disagreements.
