Human rights advocate Aisha Yesufu has criticized Nigerian senators, labeling them as active participants in the negative policies attributed to President Bola Tinubu. She shared these thoughts on her official X account this past Friday.
Yesufu urged the legislators to quit portraying themselves as powerless, noting that they hold responsibility for their positions. Her remarks were a direct response to Senator Garba Maidoki from Kebbi South, who had previously claimed he spoke out in the Senate to highlight the plight of his constituents facing banditry.
She emphasized that the lawmakers are far from victims. Instead, she argued that they provide the political leverage that allows President Tinubu to execute his current agenda, which she views as harmful to the nation.
